Lancaster Host Golf Resort is a Resort, 18 hole golf course located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Lancaster Host golf course first opened for play in 1964. The course was designed by William F. and David W. Gordon.
Lancaster Host golf course's fairways vary in width/landing area and of density of tree lines. The greens are undulating and medium-sized. Lakes coming into play several times. The terrain is flat and easy to walk.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees the course plays to 6849 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5411 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 14, a par-5 that plays to 550 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 185 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, a 493 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Lancaster Host Golf & Resort is # 16, a 193 yard par-3.

Played Lancaster Host Resort as part of a fund raiser for a healthcare PAC. We were a sponsor so I'm not absolutely sure about the street rate for greens fees, but I think I'm close. Other courses in the area were in great shape this time of year, but with many days of rain the past couple weeks it was evident that the greens crews were unable to get out to do much maintenance (I'll give them the benefit of the doubt) OR the course is poorly maintained in general? Some nicely thought out holes, others just so-so. Hotel on site, so if you're vacationing in Lancaster this would be a good spot for someone interested in getting in a round while wife is outlet shopping, but I would not call it a golf vacation destination.

Greens were in excellent condition. Twilight rate of $25 is a true bargain!

Amazing how bad they've allowed this course to become. It is now the worst conditioned course I've ever seen. Only conclusion I can draw is that they are getting ready to close it, because they wouldn't neglect it so badly otherwise. The bunkers are compacted and have grass growing in the sand. There are branches down all over the course that have just been left there. The rough is ridiculously high so balls get lost, not to increase the difficulty of the course but through sheer neglect. The carts are slow, and the cart paths are becoming rough, and in a few places they are actually dangerous. This course used to be at least enjoyable. The goose droppings around the course may now be the best conditioned part of the course.
